Mechanical refrigerated containers are the most mature and most widely used refrigerated containers. Compared with other refrigerated containers, mechanical refrigerated containers have the following advantages:

Mechanical refrigerated containers also have some disadvantages: for example, the equipment is complex, the initial investment is large, and the maintenance cost is high; the temperature gradient in the tank is larger than the liquid nitrogen refrigerated container; the fans and the air duct system are required in the box, which will increase the dryness and dehydration of the goods in the box. .
In addition, there is a low-pressure refrigerated container similar to an air-conditioning refrigerated container in which the fruits and vegetables are stored and transported in a low-pressure environment. The pressure inside the box is 1333 ~ 10666 Pa, relative humidity 90% ~ 95%, temperature - 2 °C ~ +16 °C. The oxygen content is (0.1 ± 0.03)%. Ventilation is required to limit ethylene and other harmful gases. The low-pressure refrigerated container consists of a refrigeration system, a vacuum system, and a power system. The refrigeration system is used to reduce the temperature; the vacuum system is used to exclude the air and water vapor in the tank; the power system is used to generate electricity from the diesel, which is used by the container.
The other type is a jacketed refrigerated container. The refrigerated container is characterized by a jacket along the wall of the tank for cooling air circulation. The advantage of this refrigerated container is that the loading of the goods does not affect the circulation of the air and thus does not affect the temperature distribution; secondly, the entire volume of the jacket space is used to load the goods, which is very advantageous for the shipment of low-density goods. This kind of container cannot hold breathable goods and is generally used to ship frozen cargo.
